About Us
Port Stephens has many ex service organisations (ESO) each providing pension advocacy and welfare services to their membership. The Port Stephens Veterans Network (PSVN) seeks to support these resources so that they are used in the most effective way and are available to all serving Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel, veterans, war widows and their families whether they are a member of an ESO or not.
Legacy and the RSL are uniquely Australian organisations dedicated to the task of supporting and caring for veterans, their families and dependants. This assistance takes many forms, providing a level of support necessary for each individual situation.
Legacy was formed in 1925 and is a charity providing services to Australian families suffering financially and socially after the incapacitation or death of a spouse or parent, during or after their defence force service. Legacy currently cares for 100,000 widows and 1,900 children and disabled dependants throughout Australia.
The Returned and Services League of Australia (RSL), New South Wales Branch was formed in 1917 and currently has 46,500 members in 388 sub-Branches throughout New South Wales. Their task is the well-being, care, compensation and commemoration of serving and ex-serving Defence Force Personnel and their dependants.
Our primary aim is to give you the best chance of success with your application to the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and to provide welfare advice and assistance.
